After earning my Fine Art degree from the University of Toronto in 1998, I discovered there was a better way to draw on the computer (besides using a mouse!). I bought my first Wacom Tablet called the “PenPartner” which changed the way I created art and design. I’m now on my 5th tablet, a Wacom Cintiq 21UX. It is one of my five-things-to-grab-in-a-fire (joined only by my kids & husband, my dogs, and my important documents).
Upon graduating, I worked as a Senior-level Web and Graphic Designer for several Fortune 500 companies. I soon realized I had the complete skill set to launch an online stationery shop – I designed the product line, built the e-commerce site and quickly landed key editorial spots in magazines and blogs to attract the right customers. I was lucky enough to spend the next ten years working with hundreds and hundreds of couples to produce more than 250,000+ invitation and stationery sets.
My most successful stationery designs were those that included my handlettering, and since I love lettering so much, it was an easy shift to focus my work on lettering commissions and designs. I’ve helped brands stand out in a sea of visual media using my creative lettering and animation. My work was recently published inside Issue 28 of Uppercase Magazine, with an inside cover feature in the Creative Calendar. I also illustrated the Fall 2015 Campaign for Peet’s Coffee and Tea throughout the USA. My lettering has been curated and featured by Handmade Font, Type Gang, and Good Type, who have a combined audience of 1.25 million subscribers on Instagram at the time of this writing.
I want to wake up every day and bring life to letters through my illustrations. I am grateful for the great clients I have worked with and I look forward to making new connections and inspiring more people in the world with my work.
